Signs of Woodstock
October 23, 2007
Woodstock NY. In American culture this small mountain town lays claim to the big party of the 1960’s. Free love, mind-expanding smokables and some of the top musicians of the day. In a time when protests, war and counterculture were making the headlines this three day event served as the signpost for the revolution. Flash-forward thirty-nine years and you find that some are still living the dream albeit with a capitalistic flavor.

That’s so cool – and colourful – there are a few Woodstocky places here – they’ve kind of morphed from hippie to new age – though I’m not sure there’s really any difference 🙂

I am quite surprised, but I really like these photos, who knew I would enjoy looking at and reading photos of signs?
Well I guess you knew people would. (and I am a person)

AV-I’m not sure if there is any difference either, they seem to attract the same crowd though the drug use might be a bit less with the new agers. I imagine they are all trying to get to the same place, in touch with heaven on earth.
Taffiny-Glad to hear you are human:)
I sometimes find that signs reveal a bit about a place when taken from their environment and captured in a photo. Also I am shy about taking photos of the people that populate a location but I still want to take a little something with me.
